February is American Heart Month!

The month of celebrating those special and close to us is also a time to bring awareness to Congenital Heart Disease by recognizing American Heart Month. CHD, the most common birth defect that many are unaware of, is a result of the heart or blood vessels near the heart not developing properly. The Healing Hearts Project supports families and patients affected by this disease. In the Jacksonville Area alone, about

1% of babies are born with CHD.

This year, Coastal Pediatric Therapy Center is participating in the first annual Healing Hearts Walk held on February 16th at the Florida State College of Jacksonville South Campus. The Healing Hearts Walk is a family friendly event put together by The Healing Hearts Project and Wolfson Children’s Hospital. A few of our very own patients are affected by CHD, and we would love for all of our Coastal families to come by to see us and support this cause. You may register for the walk or donate by visiting the Healing Hearts Walk website linked below.
